With ‘19, we continued our efforts to improve our UI visuals and our player’s experiences throughout the title to really focus on player’s first. For our visuals, our direction was to create an environment inspired by fashion stores like Nike, Under Armor, Adidas, House of Hoops and more. We used a combination of industrial and natural styles, with fully customizable basketball court that was our User’s centerpiece. It allowed our Users to make this environment their own. With the environment’s grey scale palette, it allowed our UI and branding elements to truly stand out to our Users. I collaborated with many amazing Desginers, Technical Artists, Software Engineers, and teammates to help achieve our final product. Together we created the game’s final visual.

Roles

  • Developed mocks for various features and sub-features, including Create a Player, Player Progression, Team Select, Court Battles, Gameplay, End Game Flows, and more.

  • Designed and iterated on low and high-fidelity XD prototypes in collaboration with designers, directors, and user experience researchers to define the final user experience.

  • Produced motion mocks to guide Technical Artists and Software Engineers on screen navigation and animation, ensuring smooth player interactions.

  • Facilitated numerous meetings with leadership, stakeholders, and designers, and collaborated with other teams to ensure a streamlined process.

  • Ensured adherence to UI/UX Director’s guidelines across all designs, maintaining consistency in visuals and experiences, with deviations only when necessary and supported by the director.

  • Collaborated with the UI/UX Director to enhance leadership skills, preparing to take on larger roles as the team expanded across Florida, Texas, Canada, and Spain.

  • Partnered with the User Experience Research (UXR) department to develop and execute testing sessions for various features.

  • Worked closely with UXR to adjust prototypes based on real-time feedback, iterating wireframes during testing to gather immediate insights.

  • Collaborated with concept artists, environmental modelers, and lighters to optimize camera movements and lighting for the best possible outcomes.

  • Created and refined all front-end camera positions and movements to ensure the smoothest possible transitions.
